Business retention & expansion (BR&E) is an economic development strategy that focuses on the retention and expansion of existing businesses. Programs are designed to help support existing business develop and expand in today's global economy. The initial BR&E survey is a fundamental part of the BR&E program as it provides the initial insight from local industry.
Jupia Consultants has experience developing, implementing, reviewing the results and preparing recommendations from BR&E projects for many of the Maritime Provinces' top economic development organizations. Our approach is not based on an existing template of questions or survey methodology. Rather we build the BR&E project based on the unique needs of each specific region. Because we have helped numerous economic development organizations with their BR&E projects, we understand the value of extrapolating actionable information. In many BR&E projects, information is gathered but is not actionable. For example, one of our clients had run a BR&E project before we got involved and many of the findings were too general to be of value. We worked with them to more tightly calibrate the survey questions to achieve information results that they could use going forward.
